Foundations of Visual Arts ( Fridays, 6:00PM-8:00PM)
This course introduces students to the fundamental principles of visual art while building the skills needed to develop and communicate their own creative ideas. Students will explore essential concepts such as composition, color, form, line, shape, texture, space, proportion, and visual balance, everything you must know to begin making any form of art.
Through drawing and mixed-media exercises, students will learn how these elements work together to create strong and meaningful artwork. The course emphasizes observation, creative thinking, and concept development, helping students learn how to transform an initial idea into a clear visual form, whether developing their own artwork or creating sketches and visual concepts that effectively communicate their ideas to others.
Designed for beginner and intermediate students, this class provides a strong foundation for further exploration in painting, drawing, design, and other areas of visual art.
Class runs for 7 weeks.
